Choose a requirement rather than a broad build
A work-focused character plan should begin with the next rank’s missing requirement. If the required skill is already met, more practice is a different goal rather than mandatory preparation.
The reviewed full Banking run did not add training before its completed shift. That is one example of avoiding unrelated preparation, not a universal minimum-stat build.
Match the action to the purpose
The published Standing Mirror and Laptop Desk routes can help locate a training action. Read your current item menu before converting either into a session plan.
Three dated practice examples
One mirror practice crossed a nearby Charisma level boundary; one coding practice reached Coding 2; separate guitar practices crossed Music levels. Starting progress was not fully measured.
| Purpose | Entry to inspect | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Speech | Standing Mirror → Practice Speech | No fixed level-per-action rule |
| Coding | Laptop Desk → Practice Coding | Income saving is a separate issue |
| Music | Acoustic Guitar → Practice Guitar | Practice and performance are different actions |
Read progress without inventing a bonus
A level change is a result for that starting state. An unchanged level can still hide unmeasured progress within the level, so it does not prove zero experience.
Keep your character’s presentation separate from those measurements. No reviewed evidence here assigns higher training gains to a selected gender or a planned outfit.
Should I copy another character’s starting state?
Use the route to locate the action, then use your own current requirement. Copying an older character’s level can create unnecessary training or spending.
Can the brief include fun practice? Yes. Mark it as a preference, not a required career step, and leave room to stop when the session’s purpose is met.
Sources & dates
Check what each source records. A menu label and a completed playtest are different kinds of evidence.
